Weekly Food Horoscope

Last Week's Horoscope: January 4, 2010 - January 10, 2010

If it's been too long since you cooked entirely from your intuition, this is a good week to do so. For your signs natives, the planets are lining up to remind you of what used to be, as their energy affects the area of your chart associated with past lives and karma. Who knows? You could have been a Mediterranean cook in the 17th century. Try to awaken this part of your life with butternut squash pilaf or lima bean spread with cumin and herbs for some serious deliciousness.

Initial thoughts: First of all, I ate neither butternut squash, lima beans or cumin last week.  Eggplant though?  I rocked the hell out of some eggplant. And I made Chicken Savory, a classic New Jersey recipe.  That probably has some Mediterranean ties in there, right?   Oh and I roasted some broccoli.  That has something to do with cooking entirely from intuition as I didn't use a recipe. Oh and I had some hummus.  That HAS to be classified as Mediterranean

How I'm feeling about food: Restricted.  I'm a dumb American and have resolved to eat better in the new year.  The first two weeks of this are always pretty challenging as it's a detox from sugars, meaning I don't put any sugar in my body except those found naturally in beans or vegetables. (Though I did cheat at my  photo shoot at Heidi's.  Those Sweet Potato Beignets were amazing).  Anyway.  Sure Mrs Food Horoscope lady.  I'm channeling the Mediterranean vibes.  Just send some of that warm Mediterranean air my way... any day now.  But I still hate cumin.

This Week: January 11, 2010 - January 17, 2010

This weeks' bad usage of an apostrophe... bet you didn't see that coming.  Maybe you're only a food specific astrologist.  I'll forgive you this one time dominant planetary energy affects your house of past lives, karma, and institutions Um... what? Sick of that same old institutional food or bland microwave entrees?  Can we just assume that since I'm reading a food horoscope that I don't eat institutional food? Want to throw your bowl at the wall?  I feel your pain. The internet feels pain?  Technology is getting out of hand. Your heart and soul want a boost - from tomatoes. Finally something that actually has to do with food! Tomato recipes are great for putting the kibosh on inflammation and helping your body to absorb the nutrients in food. In fact, a grilled chicken salad with tomatoes, spinach, and feta may make you want to sing again. You do know it's January here Mrs Horoscope Lady.  And I'm pretty sure there aren't any real tomatoes to be found within about 1000 miles of my front door, so that salad probably won't be in my future... unless of course you count DRIED tomatoes.  You aren't very interesting this week horoscope, but I do love the word "kibosh" and am happy you used it.  I suppose I'll try to eat some tomatoes this week and hopefully my heart and soul will get a boost as you suggest.  Perhaps by next Monday I will be singing.
