Food Horoscope: March 1-March 7

Last week's recap: Mr. Horoscope told me I was going to do well financially, which was a bit confusing, and certainly didn't come true, and then wanted to talk about relationships.  Yes, this is supposed to be a food horoscope. I did connect with family and friends over dinner though.  So, I guess it gets one star (out of a 5 star rating scale) for having one point of accuracy.

This week is about change for your sign. Uh-oh.  Kate doesn't like change. Okay, that's not true, I just didn't know what to say to that. So much is going on in your life that you may feel a bit overwhelmed. As a matter of fact, I have been feeling a bit anxoius.  I wonder what this is all about?  Let's read on: But as your thoughts turn to your family members, you could be surprised to realize that you really want to get everyone together, spur of the moment. Well... last week we had Kyle's family over for dinner.  And most of my family lives in Texas.  Please advise. Baked cod casserole is a great way to get the benefits of white fish without the hassles of the grill. Plus, if you serve it with simple steamed broccoli, you have a homemade meal with nutrients galore. Wow, some healthy advice.  I appreciate it, though Baked cod casserole?  I think I'll just return to Sea Change if I want a fantastic cod dish.

Food Horoscope: February 22, 2010 - February 28, 2010

Last week: You have a lot on your plate this week, literally and figuratively. UGH, and I feel it today.  You've got to make personal appearances at events, Well, I did go to the food and wine show AND the heavy table anniversary dinner. and at the same time, make sure your relationships aren't left out in the cold.  Fine, I'll be lame and admit that I missed my husband.  I don't see that kid enough.  You may not always get along with your significant other we actually got along remarkably well but there will be plenty of good food Yep, ate well ast usual.  If you're dining in, try Cajun-crusted snapper fillets, which couldn't be simpler and add a subtle buttermilk flavor to the tender white fish. Cap that off with a chardonnayAte nothing cajun or cajun inspired.  What will next week bring???

This week, you've got a lot of luck in money and career matters now, but don't count your earnings and opportunity before it arrives huh?  What do you know that I don't know? Should I play the powerball?  what does that have to do with food?  . Your relationships with others will keep you functioning on a very high level. This horoscope is supposed to be about food, right? Did I click on the right button?  Make sure to reconnect with your most valued friends and family over food you make at home, or that new Vietnamese place you've been meaning to try I'm going to Sea Change with my mother and sister in law... but that's not vietnamese, or home made.  I'm really disappointed in you this week horoscope.  If you want to take the week off just let me know.  I'm very flexible with schedules.

Food Horoscope February 15, 2010 - February 21, 2010

Last week: There's some pretty hot and heavy love energy bouncing around in your chart this week  There is such a romantic aspect taking place that you may be inadvertently attracting new admirers by just being yourself  If you're looking for a Valentine's date, this can be very useful so make sure to follow through with anyone who indicates interest in you. Beef tenderloin in mushroom port sauce, sweet onion corn muffins  and vanilla almond panna cotta will hit the ball out of the park. Well, I made beef wellington.  I suppose that uses your suggestion of beef tenderloin, but damn, it was good.  We had an assortment of dark chocolate for dessert (shocking if you know us) and wine we dug out from the special wine storage.  I'll post pictures later.

This week:

You have a lot on your plate this week, literally and figuratively. And this is different from every other week.... how? You've got to make personal appearances at events, oh yeah, people are always chopping at the bit to get a glampse of me and at the same time, make sure your relationships aren't left out in the cold. You may not always get along with your significant other, well, hopefully he's nice to me!  My birthday is tomorrow.  But you knew that, because you're my horoscope but there will be plenty of good food You never need to remind me there will be good food.  I eat well at some point during every week of my life. If you're dining in, try Cajun-crusted snapper fillets, which couldn't be simpler and add a subtle buttermilk flavor to the tender white fish. Cap that off with a chardonnay I'm not crazy about cajun just for the sake of cajun, but we'll see what happens.

Food Horoscope: February 8, 2010 - February 14, 2010

Disclaimer: I am not a grinch.  I do like holidays.  But I think valentines day is stupid.  Perhaps this is because it always gets lumped with my birthday (yeah, boo-hoo.  I have lots of friends whose birthday's surround Christmas, which is way worse, but bear with me) and because Kyle and I are pretty nice to each other most of the time.  Sure, we squabble, but there are lots of thoughtful things that are done the year round.  I mostly look at Valentine's day as another excuse to not leave the house (I have some hermit tendencies on occasion) and make a delicious dinner.  I suppose if I got some flowers I wouldn't complain (wink!)

Last week: (Feb 1- Feb 7, 2010)

This week, the stars' energies bring renewed solidity and weight to your projects (my god this actually happened.  I have two new confirmed projects that are now on in full swing.  One will be announced sooner or later, the other is the introduction of my photography feature over at The City Pages, Foodography.  You're very focused and centered now even though some planetary influences can mean that what you do  now will have a transformative effect on your future.  Cooking helps you blow off some steam when everything else seems way too serious Also true, but only if your kitchen is clean, and as of Monday IT IS (thank you so much Laura Brown) Have some fun in the kitchen by spicing up your presentation. Ditch the carrot curlicues   in favor of artistic plating designs with sauces (Butternut squash pasta sauce sound good) proportion, and textures.

This week: There's some pretty hot and heavy love energy bouncing around in your chart this week Woah there horoscope.  I don't want to chase away my readers by talking about the hot and heavy aspects of my life.  Settle down, boy! There is such a romantic aspect taking place that you may be inadvertently attracting new admirers by just being yourself DUDE horoscope!  I'm MARRIED!  I mean, it's nice to have people think you're attractive.... but I don't have time to be beating off all these admirers! If you're looking for a Valentine's date, this can be very useful and if I'm not....? so make sure to follow through with anyone who indicates interest in you. Beef tenderloin in mushroom port sauce, sweet onion corn muffins off topic, can you believe my boss had never heard of a corn muffin?  A corn muffin.  So simple, so normal... very strange and vanilla almond panna cotta will hit the ball out of the park. I'll blow that menu out of the park on v-day Mr. Horoscope.  Just watch me

Food Horoscope Feb1- Feb 7, 2010

Let's take a peek at last week, shall we?
This week, the planets are moving through your house of money and values, and unfortunately they may be destabilizing what you're trying to establish. Yes, it's true, the planets moved through my money.  But it's okay!  I took my money at put it where my mouth is.  Claudia and I enjoyed the 8-course tasting menu at La Belle Vie and chatted for a bit with Tim McKee.  Don't worry, I did snap a picture, but you'll have to tune into my new weekly feature over at The Hot Dish to check it out.  More on this later It may be exciting but frustrating now as you move one step forward and two steps back. No worries. Your culinary skills are renowned, and you're about to make an important breakthrough in this area. Sooo... I didn't cook at all last week.  Not once.  Have an explination for that smartypants? Sometimes, what seems like a small ingredient can make a lot of difference. Try adding sour cream
blah blah to fettuccine blah blah blah alfredo blah sauce and see if I'm not blah blah right. Did I mention blah?  I think I may have been clear on my opinion of this suggestion last week.

This week, the stars' energies bring renewed solidity and weight to your projects Oh thank god.  If I eat out one more day I may actually never cook again.  You're very focused and centered now even though some planetary influences can mean that what you do now will have a transformative (IE, the size of my ass??) effect on your future.  Cooking helps you blow off some steam when everything else seems way too serious. Have some fun in the kitchen by spicing up your presentation. Ditch the carrot curlicues a favorite in my presentation in favor of artistic plating designs with sauces, proportion, and textures.
